Tumblr has an awful victimization problem. And of course by victimization I mean people who exploit hardships they or others face, or even invoke specificities of their own identity in a conversation where these specificities don’t belong (e.g. telling someone to suck your dick and when they defend themselves call them anti-black) in order to feel slighted or insulted, or even triggered. This website is like a vortex that sucks people into behaving this way, and through encouraging others to be offended or triggered or etc. you confer a sort of perverse pleasure in feelings of temporary oppression. It’s unhealthy behavior and utterly disrespectful to people who come on here sincerely intending to flesh out frustration and anger with actual, structural, social problems. You, by inventing triggers for socially or physiologically normal occurrences like trivial disagreements or menstruation, simply because you do not like them, are not facing structural problems, you are facing problems you invented and reveling in feelings of perceived oppression. You obsess over these inventions until you actually and pathologically convince yourself they’re triggering and real. This is some kind of weird sociological internet phenomenon. But whatever it is, it’s disrespectful and unctuously pathetic.
